Sarah Kelly Featured on CMCentral.com!

Not only is Sarah Kelly a great rocker, she’s also a lot of fun to talk with. The passion and excitement that come across in her music flow abundantly from her very honest and engaging personality. Anyway, CMCentral caught up with her just a few days after the Oscars in February.

CMCentral (Kevan Breitinger): So Sarah, I read on your blog that you just played an after-Oscars party?

Sarah Kelly: Yeah, for Billboard. It’s so crazy, isn’t it?

That sounds like fun, was it?

It was awesome. Cirque du Soleil was there and they did a lot of great stuff, and there were a lot of people contributing to United Way, so it was a great thing to be a part of. And it was completely star-studded, a lot of people there, so it was an incredible opportunity for me to play.

I’m glad they got a chance to hear your music.

It was amazing, so great, and they really liked it.

Well, of course!

(Laughing) Thank you. People were so supportive; I was surprised how much they really liked it. You’re used to that kind of support in a church, but out there you never know if they’re gonna love you or hate you.

LET IT SNOW, BABY…LET IT REINDEER, RELIENT K’S FIRST FULL-LENGTH HOLIDAY CD, DUE OUT OCTOBER 23rd

August 20th, 2007-- Relient K – the band that brought you Five Score And Seven Years Ago, mmhmm, Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right…(But Three Do) and The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek – is heralding the holiday season in its own inimitable style with the release of its first-ever, full-length Christmas album: Let It Snow, Baby…Let It Reindeer. The album, scheduled for release by Capitol Music Group/Gotee Records on October 23rd, features Relient K’s take on 10 holiday classics and six original songs. From the glory of “Handel’s Messiah” and “Angels We Have Heard On High” to the goofiness of 1950’s novelty song “I’m Gettin’ Nuttin’ For Christmas” and “Santa Clause Is Thumbing To Town” (wherein Relient K imagines a Christmas full of catastrophes that reduce St. Nick to hitchhiking), Let It Snow, Baby…Let It Reindeer captures the many sides of the season. There’s elation (“I Celebrate The Day”) and depression (“I Hate Christmas Parties”), nods to “Boxing Day” and New Year’s Eve (“Auld Lang Syne” – with a new ending) and lots of old-fashioned fun along the way (“Deck The Halls,” “12 Days of Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” to name a few). The collection was produced by Mark Lee Townsend and Relient K vocalist, Matt Thiessen. Relient K’s Five Score And Seven Years Ago debuted at #6 on The Billboard 200 earlier this year, becoming the band’s highest charting album to date and receiving rave reviews. “Five Score features irresistible pop-punk hooks and glorious Beach Boys-style harmonies, all building to an 11-minute mini-rock opera that recalls – and equals – The Who’s ‘A Quick One While He’s Away,’” said USA Today while Alternative Press praised the album’s “radio-ready power pop goodness.” The band will launch a co-headlining tour with Switchfoot on October 16th in Charleston, WV (details to be announced shortly). The track listing for Let It Snow, Baby…Let It Reindeer is as follows: 1, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas 2, Sleigh Ride 3, Merry Christmas, Here's To Many More 4, Angels We Have Heard On High 5. Deck The Halls 6. 12 Days of Christmas 7. Silent Night / Away In A Manger 8. I Celebrate The Day 9. In Like A Lion (Always Winter) 10. I'm Gettin' Nuttin' For Christmas 11. We Wish You A Merry Christmas 12. Santa Clause Is Thumbing To Town 13. Handel's Messiah 14. I Hate Christmas Parties 15. Boxing Day 16. Auld Lang Syne (new ending) 17. Hidden Track (tracks 3, 8, 9, 12, 14 and 15 are Relient K original compositions)

John Reuben Busy With 40-City Tour; Videos On YouTube and MySpace Sites

John Reuben recently unveiled his first video in a special series online at both YouTube.com and his MySpace.com site. This week the rapper's latest clip is a music video for "Trying Too Hard" which features Youtube star LisaNova. A second sketch has simultaneously been posted on LisaNova's channel featuring Reuben's alter-ego, Nova and other YouTube friends. The "mockumentary" styled video series follows last year's 9-minute "pilot" featuring an exaggerated John Reuben alter-ego. The clip, produced by Reuben and his brother and recalling classic satires like "Waiting For Guffman", found a large audience quickly, amassing over 175,000 views on Youtube.com and setting the stage for these upcoming video clips. Fans can anticipate 17 video clips total through the end of May, with one releasing online each week. The YouTube channel was the in the top-5 most subscribed to musician channels during the month of February and remains in the top-50 most viewed channels at the time of this release.

John Reuben who kicked off his 40-city Word Of Mouth tour last month, will finish up March 24th in Saginaw MI. He has toured other albums extensively as well, including a 30–city nationwide stint with Pillar and Thousand Foot Crutch, and dates with Superchick and Sanctus Real.

Word Of Mouth is creating a media buzz including being featured last week on NPR's "All Songs Considered" online music show. Allmusic.com noted, "you won't find a truer, more honest, or more celebratory album this year." Christianitytoday.com called the album, "something far more interesting and fun than the average blend of pop/rock and hip-hop." John Reuben has five prior albums already to his credit and sales of over 200,000 albums.
